Lexnet (FP7)

lexnetLow EMF Exposure Future Networks (LEXNET) is a collaborative research project funded by the EU under the FP7 European Framework (completed in 2015). The main goal of LEXNET was to investigate methods, technologies and architectures to reduce the global population exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) induced by wireless networks. While the concepts of basic restrictions and reference levels that limit the public EMF exposure are well known, the new LEXNET index assesses the exposure of a population over space and time and taking into account both up- and downlink sources.

In charge of an entire sub-project, SIRADEL has specifically contributed to the LEXNET index implementation and to the simulation-based evaluations of various new topologies (e.g. small-cells) and advanced equipment (e.g. beam-forming). Website: LEXNET project.
